Employee Satisfaction

In short

Employee satisfaction expresses how content employees are with their role, their working conditions and the opportunities the organisation provides.

An employee may be happy with their shift pattern and still find development opportunities lacking. A single overall score does not show that difference. To understand satisfaction, the content of the work, the relationship with the manager and day-to-day working conditions need to be looked at separately.

In a survey, complement the question “How satisfied are you with your working pattern?” with “What one change would make your daily work easier?” Read the results together with each team’s circumstances. Comments about shuttle times, for example, may be explained by a change in shift start times. You can also compare satisfaction data separately with engagement and intention to stay.
