Company Culture

In short

Company culture is the shared values, beliefs, habits and behaviour patterns that determine "how things really get done" in an organisation.

[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.

Culture is not what is written on the values page but everyday reality: who speaks in meetings, how mistakes are met, what promotions are based on. The employer brand tells culture to the outside; internal communication makes it visible and reinforceable inside. Consistency between the two decides the credibility of the employer brand.

Why it matters

Culture directly affects engagement, attrition and performance. Candidates now weigh "culture fit" as much as pay; companies that describe their culture honestly attract the right people and filter out the wrong ones early.

Communicating culture

  • Behaviour definitions and stories for each value
  • Visibility of leader behaviour
  • Rituals: celebrations, recognition, meeting habits
  • Culture surveys and pulse measurement
