Employee Journey Map
An employee journey map visualises the stages, touchpoints, emotions and communication needs of an employee from candidacy to exit.
[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.
Typical stages: attraction (candidate), hiring, onboarding, development, promotion or role change, exit and alumni. Moments that matter (first day, first performance review, promotion, return from parental leave) are identified at each stage, with what the organisation does, what the employee feels and what communication is needed.
Why it matters
The map shows HR processes through the employee's eyes, revealing where communication breaks and which moment has the greatest impact. The internal communication plan and EVP proof points are fed by it.
How it is built
- Employee interviews and focus groups
- Stage × touchpoint × emotion × need matrix
- A prioritised list of improvements and communication
