Employee Volunteering

In short

Employee volunteering is employees giving their time or professional skills to a social need of their own free will, with the organisation’s support.

The support may be time set aside for volunteering, a partnership with a non-profit organisation or materials the teams need. The starting point for a programme is the need as defined by the community being supported.

For example, at a charity’s request, a technology team could make the charity’s volunteer application form accessible. At the outset, agree together on the work, the time that can be given and who will maintain the result after delivery. At the end of the programme, listen not only to the number of participants but also to how the charity is using the solution.
