Company Culture Rituals

In short

Company culture rituals are regularly repeated practices in a team or organisation that make shared values visible through behaviour.

A ritual’s meaning comes from repetition and from the value participants give it. A team sharing a mistake and what it learned from it at the end of every project also shows new joiners how the organisation approaches learning.

When designing a ritual, first decide which behaviour you want to make room for. For example, thanking a colleague for a specific contribution at the start of a shift can take just a few minutes. Refine the format by looking at who speaks, whether the same people always stand out and how the team responds to the practice.
