Candidate Experience
Candidate experience is the sum of every interaction a candidate has with a company, from seeing the job ad to the offer or rejection.
[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.
The wording of the ad, the length of the application form, response time, the tone of the interview, offer and rejection messages: each is part of the candidate experience and shapes the story the candidate will tell. Rejected candidates are ambassadors too; poor experiences spread fast on review platforms and social networks.
Why it matters
Candidate experience is the most visible test of the employer brand. A well-designed process raises offer acceptance, increases referrals and validates the employer brand promise at the very first touch.
Improvement steps
- Map the candidate journey; define expectations and timing at each step.
- Give every candidate a timely, respectful response regardless of outcome.
- Write ads, interviews and offers in the employer brand voice.
- Measure candidate satisfaction with short surveys.
