Onboarding Communication

In short

Onboarding communication is the whole flow of welcoming, informing and connecting a new hire, from offer acceptance to the first 90 days.

[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.

The first day is the first real test of the employer brand promise. Onboarding communication covers the welcome message sent before day one, the first-day flow, the welcome kit, info cards, digital guides, manager and buddy communication, and 30-60-90 day checkpoints.

Why it matters

A large share of resignations happens in the first months; a well-designed onboarding reduces early attrition, shortens time to productivity and turns the new hire into an advocate from day one.

Components

  • Pre-boarding messages
  • First-day and first-week flow, welcome kit
  • Values, EVP and culture story
  • 30-60-90 day conversations and a feedback survey
