Employee Segmentation

In short

Employee segmentation is grouping employees by characteristics such as role, working pattern, seniority or channel access in order to plan communication around different needs.

Not everyone in the same organisation has the same access to information or does the same thing with it. Segmentation helps identify which difference matters for a particular announcement.

When a shift planning app is rolled out, what frontline employees need to know is where to see their own hours. Shift supervisors, on the other hand, want to learn how to approve changes. After the general announcement, give each group a short guide suited to its work. When forming the groups, start by looking at real tasks and channel use.
