Health and Safety Communication
Health and safety communication is the regular exchange of information with employees about workplace risks, protective practices and reporting channels.
A safety announcement helps employees recognise the risks in their own area and know who to report their observations to. Reports from employees, and the feedback given afterwards, are also part of this communication.
In communication on reporting near misses, for example, show the organisation’s reporting channel and how the process works through a realistic example. Check access to the channel on the night shift separately. Verify the information shared with the health and safety team and, after a report, tell the team concerned what action was taken.
