Values Communication

In short

Values communication takes company values off the poster and makes them visible in employees' daily decisions and behaviour.

[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.

Most companies have values; few employees can name them and fewer use them in a decision. Values communication explains each value with concrete behaviours, real employee stories and recognition, and embeds it in processes from onboarding to performance reviews.

Why it matters

Values are the language of culture and feed the "organisation" pillar of the EVP. Values that are not lived create a trust gap: what candidates hear and what employees experience do not match.

In practice

  • "Looks like this / does not look like this" behaviour definitions per value
  • Value stories and a recognition programme
  • Integration into onboarding, leadership and performance processes
  • An annual values campaign and measurement
