Hybrid Work
Hybrid work is the model in which employees split the week between office and remote work: an arrangement that needs new rules for internal communication and culture.
[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.
In hybrid, culture must be built independently of being in the office: unless information equality, visibility, belonging and recognition are designed, remote people feel second class. Internal communication balances asynchronous channels (intranet, app, recorded video) with synchronous moments (town halls, team days).
Why it matters
Flexibility is among the EVP elements candidates value most, yet engagement and culture do not happen by themselves in hybrid. Companies must re-frame office days as connection days.
Communication principles
- Information goes digital first, to everyone at once
- A remote communication guide for managers
- A purpose for office days: collaboration, celebration, learning
- Measuring belonging and visibility indicators
