Intranet

In short

An intranet is an internal platform for news, information, documents and collaboration accessible only to employees: the central digital channel of internal communication.

[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.

A modern intranet is not a document store but the "digital front door" where employees start their day: news, leadership messages, announcements, tools, people directory and social interaction in one place. For deskless employees it is complemented by a mobile app.

Why it matters

The intranet is the first channel where internal communication becomes measurable: reads, clicks, comments and search data show which content works. A stale or empty intranet quickly exhausts the channel's credibility.

Content principles

  • Editorial calendar and content owners
  • Short, scannable, visual content
  • A balance of leadership and employee voice
  • Read and engagement reports
