Shift Handover Communication

In short

Shift handover communication is how the outgoing team passes on the current status, open tasks and changes that need attention to the team taking over.

A priority that changes in the last hour of one shift can directly affect the next team’s plan. A handover log preserves this information, while a short conversation lets the incoming team ask about anything unclear.

For example, a logistics team records a delayed shipment in the handover log. The reason, the time of the next check and the person responsible are written down together. The new shift confirms that it has taken the open task into its plan. Using a single, up-to-date log stops outdated information from circulating in different message groups.
