Leadership Communication

In short

Leadership communication is the planned practice of making senior leaders and managers speak to employees regularly, visibly and sincerely.

[DRAFT] Prepared for team approval; this note will be removed once approved.

For employees the most trusted source is a leader, not a corporate account. Leadership communication includes CEO messages, all-hands meetings, video notes, site visits, Q&A sessions and the talking points managers use in team meetings. The aim is for strategy and values to be a story told in the leader's own voice, not a text sent from above.

Why it matters

Engagement research consistently shows that employees who trust their leaders are far more likely to stay and to go the extra mile. A silent leader amplifies rumour in uncertain times.

In practice

  • A leadership calendar: monthly message, quarterly meeting, annual strategy share
  • Talking points and a message framework
  • Format variety: short video, written note, live Q&A
  • A feedback channel and measurement
