Employee Referral Programme
An employee referral programme is a recruitment practice in which employees can recommend candidates from their network for open positions and referrals are assessed under set rules.
An employee might match a former teammate’s experience with an open role. The programme explains in advance which channel referrals go through, who can take part and which assessment stages the candidate will go through.
When announcing a position, share the skills needed together with the steps for making a referral. Ask employees to talk to candidates before sharing their details. If there is a reward, explain its conditions from the start. When evaluating the programme, look both at the roles referrals cluster around and at how far they turn into hires.
