Recruitment Funnel
The recruitment funnel is a model that shows, with numbers and conversion rates, how candidates progress through stages such as application, assessment, interview, offer and hire.
The funnel shows how many candidates move on to the next stage. For example, if 60 of the 80 candidates invited to interview attended, the conversion rate from invitation to attendance is 75%. This figure alone does not explain why candidates did not attend.
Start by defining each stage and the unit being counted. Follow a group who applied for similar roles in the same period and show those still in the process separately. When the drop-off at a stage becomes clear, review that stage’s messages, waiting times and candidate comments.
